11 Plus Tutors - Meet Our 11 Plus Tutors

11 plus tutor - Anita Dhunna Anita Dhunna - Head Tutor and Co Director

Setting up KSOL with my husband, Aron has been one of my proudest achievements. Our years of teaching and hard work ensures that KSOL remains a successful educational service, that creates its own teaching material and offers a unique and tailored 11 plus service. My own experience as an ex-King Edwards student and years of professional tutoring, has helped me to prepare our students not only for the 11 plus, but also the leap into secondary education; building their confidence in all areas so they can settle in with ease. I have been tutoring for over 12 years including helping my own children achieve grammar school success with the KSOL programme. My passion and the quality of teaching is central to our business, hence I have put together a team that shares that passion.
John Lane - Senior 11 Plus Tutor

I joined KSOL almost five years ago, after being won over by Aron and Anita’s passion and enthusiasm for the company. I started primary school teaching nearly 40 years ago and my experience enabled me to recognise the exceptional service that KSOL provides. The online tests and feedback proves to be a great diagnostic tool, which empowers our teaching and consequentially empowers the children. My specialism at KSOL is teaching an ‘I can’ attitude to the students, with motivational talks and encouraging a positive ethos; we have fun and make a difference! Having an ‘I can’ attitude in my own life has helped me overcome setbacks at school and led to me becoming a teacher. In my spare time I run the charity I founded which restores old cycles and puts them back into the community.

Sarah-Jane Abrey - 11 Plus Tutor

Tutoring at KSOL has been a great time in my teaching career; helping the children achieve their goal at the end of the programme and gaining a place at their chosen grammar school is a fantastic feeling. Having also attended an independent school, Highclare in Sutton Coldfield, I know exactly how important preparation is in passing an entrance exam, and believe me, it’s all worth it! One of my greatest achievements was spending three months in Spain teaching Science to 4-6 year olds in a multilingual school. In these three months I went from knowing none of the language to being able to speak conversational Spanish. I’ve always been very creative and enjoyed art and music at school and at KSOL I get to use my creative abilities to get the best out of the children.

Katie Eyre - 11 Plus Tutor

As a qualified teacher, working at KSOL has been a fantastic experience; it has broadened my teaching skills and it’s great having the time to master a topic with every member of a small group of students. When I first started, I was really impressed with all the work that KSOL put in outside of classes; writing and preparing all the tests and monitoring the children’s progress. Everyone puts in so much effort to make sure the children get the right help for their needs. What I really love about working here is the satisfaction of seeing the children achieve, knowing that I’ve helped them to get there. Outside of work, I like playing sports and the piano. One of my greatest achievements was visiting Gambia and building an outdoor learning area. I’m a dab hand at putting together a Wendy house!

Working as a primary school teacher and recently joining KSOL has been an incredibly exciting experience for me. Encouraging children to work to the best of their ability is a cornerstone of my teaching approach and I believe that a positive outlook is key to fostering success at all ability levels. Passing on the enjoyment of learning is something I am personally very passionate about. My own son was enrolled on the KSOL programme and I was very delighted with the results achieved by the dedicated tutors. I not only have the tutors perspective  but also the perspective as a concerned parent. When not satisfying my love of all things Mathematics , I enjoy playing the Guitar (with which I hope to achieve my grade 8 soon!) and long distance running.

Jamie Sarakinis - 11 Plus Tutor

Since joining KSOL, I have had the pleasure of sharing my love of mathematics with the talented and friendly groups of students at the centres. It has been extremely rewarding teaching children both at the centres and online making sure that they share the same passion to overcome any barriers in numeracy and literacy.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing badminton, squash and the guitar, though I also have a desire to travel, and see as much of the world as I can. Both professionally and personally, I love a challenge, whether that be striving to engage a child with little interest in the subject I am teaching, or taking on the world's largest roller-coasters!

Before working with children be that online or at our centres, KSOL tutors all have an extended CRB Check.
