What are you testing my child on in English?
Our KSOL tests are designed to ensure that your child can recognize the difference between nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs and other such terms. They will be tested on the following topics:

They will need to have a sound understanding of all the above topics by the time they are ready to sit the 11+ exams.
A useful tip for English is to tell your child to read different types and styles of writing e.g factual, newspaper articles, information books, comedy, history, geography and general knowledge etc. The more reading they do, the better the chance of achieving a higher result, because they will have been exposed to new vocabulary. Another way of helping your child is to make sure that they speak in proper complete sentences, and do not use "slang" words as a shortcut - you will be amazed the difference this will make to your child's grammar!
