Verbal Reasoning
What is verbal reasoning?
Verbal Reasoning is a language based subject and tests the ability of problem solving, recognition of vocabulary patterns and numerical patterns. The tests will include topics like: spotting the odd one out, number sequences, alphabetical order, similarities, rearranging, substitution, word formation, coding and several more. The KSOL tests will cover every topic that is likely to come up in the 11+ exams. We continuously update the tests to ensure that we are keeping up with any new changes that come into effect.
A useful tip is that your child will need a broad knowledge of vocabulary and spelling in order to achieve the levels required by the selective schools. Our philosophy has always been to make sure that children read a lot of different types of books e.g fiction, non-fiction, and different styles of writing. The main aim is to expose them to as many new words as possible.
