Education has become a hot topic once again, with both main parties proposing new policies that will help today's young generation. Will they deliver? Only time can tell. Whatever the main political parties propose, Key Stages Online (KSOL) a company, passionate about education and child development, is over the moon to be awarded Best Business of the Year 2007 (small category).

KSOL's unique programme helps children improve their numeracy, literacy and spatial thinking abilities as required for the 11+ and SATs. The awards ceremony, held at the National Motorcycle museum in Solihull, recognised the company for its pioneering teaching methods and the quality of its online material.

As Aron Dhunna, Director of KSOL, commented: "The Government understands the need for personal tuition. They have recently launched an initiative to promote individualised learning. This is something that we have successfully been providing for a number of years. In fact, over 90% of our students passed their Grammar School entrance exams this year."

The most important aspect of the KSOL programme is that children are taught from first principles. They only move to the next level when their allocated teacher is happy with the child's understanding of a topic. The KSOL centre, based at The Bridge in Shirley Park, is a fun learning environment which concentrates on building confidence and life skills.

The KSOL programme provides daily online tests, backed up with step-by-step explanations and techniques to help children. This is then used diagnostically to identify weak areas in a child's education. Parents can monitor their child's performance at any time of the day at home or at work to ascertain all strengths and weaknesses. For children, the motivation is to gain points every time they take a test: these can then be cashed in for prizes like cinema tickets or an MP3 player.

Aron says, "We are over the moon to have received this award: to be short-listed for three categories and then actually winning the Best Business Award is a massive achievement. The whole team is very proud and we will certainly be celebrating - not only our own success, but the success enjoyed by our students".

KSOL has been successfully tutoring children for a number of years. To learn more about Grammar schools, SATS and the 11+; contact KSOL on 0121 733 6558 or visit their website at for further details.
