11+ Results Are Out! What to Do Next
The wait is finally over. 11+ results are out, and we know just how much dedication, patience, and hard work has gone into reaching this point. This is a fantastic achievement, and you should be incredibly proud of your child’s 11+ preparation. Whether your child has achieved the result they were hoping for or faced a tougher outcome, everyone at KSOL is incredibly proud of each and every one of our students.
While receiving the 11+ results is a huge milestone, there is still one important step ahead: submitting the local authority preference form. Once submitted, you’ll find out in March if your child has secured a place at their chosen grammar school.

What Happens Now That 11+ Results Are Released?
Once you have received your child’s 11+ results, it is natural to have questions about what happens next. Each Local Authority and grammar school consortium may release results slightly differently, but generally, the score your child receives helps determine eligibility for a place at certain grammar schools.
Remember:
- A qualifying score does not automatically guarantee a place at a grammar school; as each school has its own admissions policy.
- You must still complete your Local Authority school preference form by the 31st October.
- List schools in the order you genuinely prefer, as this will be important during the allocation process.
- Always include your child’s local comprehensive school for which they meet the criteria, as a back-up option.
- Do not list independent schools, as they require a separate application.
- Final offers are released on National Offer Day in March.
Understanding the process now will help you make clear, confident decisions while you wait for offers to be announced.
Key Dates to Keep in Mind
31 October: Deadline to submit school preferences to your Local Authority
March (National Offer Day): Parents are notified of school placements
After Offer Day: Appeals and waiting lists open (check with individual schools)
Keep an eye on your Local Authority website for the most accurate timelines, as they can vary slightly by region.
A Final Word from KSOL

From everyone at KSOL, thank you for being part of our community this year. It has been inspiring to see our students work hard, overcome challenges, and grow in confidence along the way.
Regardless of the result, your child has achieved something far more important: perseverance, commitment, and self-belief.
We are so proud of all our KSOL families. Congratulations once again, and here is to every child’s continued success, wherever their journey leads next.
