Welcome to KSOL Shirley! This is one of our largest and most popular centres. For over 16 years, we have been preparing and inspiring children to obtain places at some of the most prestigious grammar and independent schools in Birmingham and Warwickshire, including King Edwards Camp Hill School for Boys and King Edwards Camp Hill School for Girls.
As the venue is easily accessible to the M42 and central Birmingham, we have children attending this centre from other areas across the West Midlands (Derby, Nottingham, Warwickshire, Leicester).

Our team of experienced tutors provide focused 11 plus tuition in an interactive and engaging learning environment. Each week, we introduce new topics required for the 11 plus entrance exam in English, Maths, Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning. Our 1:5 tutor to pupil ratio enables us to spend time improving specific areas of weakness in small, focused groups.
As lead tutor at KSOL Shirley, I've had the privilege of working with many dedicated students who have gone on to achieve incredible goals in their education. It's always a pleasure to have past students visit and even see younger siblings working their way through the programme too!
Your child will receive 2 hours of tuition per week at our Shirley Centre. During the session, our tutors will cover weak points highlighted through the online tests and teach a new topic from our 11 plus curriculum.
From Monday - Friday, your child will receive online tests in Maths, English, Verbal and NVR. These tests will be personalised around any weaker areas identified by your child's allocated 11 plus tutor.
Once a month, your child's tutor will email a progress report including feedback, tips and a visual chart of how your child is progressing. If you wish to discuss progress at any other time, chat to your tutor at the centre or give them a call during office hours.
With KSOL, you will have a whole team to support you and your child - give yourself the peace of mind that there will always be a tutor available to help you throughout the entire 11 plus process.
*All courses subject to a one-off £15 course set-up fee. Click here for full terms and conditions.
Our daughter attended a session at Shirley once a week and did the daily online tests - she absolutely loved it! Her confidence grew so much throughout the duration of the course. We're so pleased with her progress and can't thank KSOL enough for helping her get first choice grammar school!
