Summer Revision Course

In-person 11plus Revision Course - Light Hall School, Shirley, Solihull

KSOL will be running a series of 4-day intensive revision courses during the Summer holidays. These are aimed at children in their final stages of 11+ preparation, ready for the entrance exam this September 2024. 

Sessions include essential exam techniques & avoiding common errors, comprehension skills, techniques for 11+ Maths, English, Verbal Skills & Non-Verbal Reasoning questions, plus daily written feedback to parents. With the 11+ entrance exam fast approaching, it is essential that your child uses their revision time wisely. At KSOL, we understand the techniques required to tackle the 11+ exam and we are passionate about increasing children's confidence ahead of the big day!

When are they available?

  • During School Holidays

Our 11 plus revision courses are structured sessions which include timed written tests, teaching sessions, group based and paired work in a fun, fast paced environment. Our tutors will revise key areas with the children and then put their knowledge into practice with a variety of activities and 11 plus questions.

Please note that our revision courses are exclusive to KSOL's Year 5 members. If your child is not a member, then they are unable to book onto the course. 

The course takes place across 4 days, 10am-3pm each day.

At KSOL, we value child safety above all else. For this reason, all our staff members are fully trained in Child Protection & Safeguarding. We have ensured that full procedures are in place to ensure your child is welcomed into a safe learning environment.

Terms and Conditions

This course is only available to students registered on a KSOL online course. 
Children do not take any test materials home. Each child is expected to make detailed notes in their personalised revision books which include additional practice materials in Maths, Literacy/ Verbal Skills and NVR (answers included in back of book).
All questions are written by KSOL Educationalists and are based on findings from detailed research.
Please note at KSOL we ensure all our 11+ tutors are CRB/DBS checked before we allow them to work with children whether that be online or in our KSOL centres.
Cancellation Notice: 1 calendar month before start date of assigned course.
Refund Policy: Cancellations made prior to 1 calendar month before the assigned course start date will be issued a full refund;
Cancellations made within 1 calendar month of the assigned course start date will NOT be issued a refund.
KSOL will aim to issue refunds within 30 days of confirming the customer request.

The 4-Day Course Includes

  • Daily written tests

    Each session will start with a timed exercise which is marked immediately by the tutors. On day four, the children will sit a full mock exam under timed conditions, giving them the opportunity to apply techniques used throughout the course.

  • Personalised Revision Book

    Each child receives a personalised revision book to make detailed notes and explanations of the exercises during the sessions. This book will include additional practice materials in Maths, English, Verbal and NVR for the children to complete at home.

  • Essential exam techniques

    Tutors will spend time in the sessions focusing on particular exam techniques and time management skills to prepare them for the 11 plus exam.

  • Tutor feedback to parents

    At the end of each day, children will receive a personalised written feedback report which includes: their test results for the day, elements they excelled in, areas for improvement and targets for the next session.
