Preparing for the 11plus during the COVID-19 pandemic
Posted 28th September 2020

Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, many children across the country will now be sitting the selective school entrance exam test in October or November of this year.
The decision to postpone these exams was taken to allow children sufficient time to settle into their new school year, and to ensure that the tests adhere to the latest government guidelines.
Although this presents opportunities for children to return to education and get back into a routine before being assessed, there are concerns that this delay could disrupt their 11+ studies.
A new school year brings new and exciting changes, and we understand that September can be a busy time for many families. However, in these final weeks before the 11+ exam, it is important that your child maintains their momentum!

How can KSOL help your child?
1 - Intensive Online Revision Courses
KSOL offer a 4-week online revision course, specifically for children yet to sit their 11+ exam this year. This course includes challenging daily tests (Mon-Fri), covering Maths, English, Verbal & Non-Verbal Reasoning.
Alongside the daily timed tests, your child will also receive a weekly revision video lesson covering fundamental 11+ topic areas and featuring downloadable worksheets.
What’s more, when enrolling on the Intensive Online Revision Course you will be allocated an expert KSOL tutor, dedicated to offering you support in this important final stage. Your tutor will monitor your child’s progress and personalise their tests to target individual areas for improvement. Contact them directly via telephone or email.
Leave nothing to chance. Call our friendly education advisers today on 0121 733 6558 to discuss the best options for your child.
2 - KSOL Online Mock Exams
Mock exams are essential to ensure that children get the full experience of the format and content of the 11+ exam, before the big day!
Even the brightest of children can become flustered under the time constraints of the entrance exam, so it is important to get as much as practice as possible.
In light of the current climate, KSOL rose to the challenge and created a NEW online mock exam platform that challenges children like the real thing. Since June 2020 we have had over 3,000 children sit a KSOL online mock exam!
What do our parents think?...
“I just wanted to give some quick feedback to this morning's mock test. My child really enjoyed it and found it very easy to navigate. The instruction videos were very clear and he knew how to do what he needed to. He just sat alone in a room and got on with it. Regardless of his score we are really happy with today's mock test!"

Parents have also benefited from our EXCLUSIVE exam bundle package. This features the FULL 2-hour exam, PLUS a 2-hour post-exam video review with downloadable worksheets, & reporting of your child’s exam results from our Virtual Online Invigilator Tool.
