CEM exam format for Gloucestershire
The CEM (Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring at Durham University) has been commissioned to produce the 11+ entrance exams for Gloucestershire. This follows in the footsteps of Birmingham and Warwickshire areas, which adopted this method over 8 years ago.
What does this mean for your child?
If your child is looking to attend Pate's Grammar School, Stroud High School, Marling School, Sir Thomas Rich's School, Ribston Hall High School, High School for Girls (Gloucester) or The Crypt School, then your child will need preparation on essential 11+ topics in order to sit the entrance exam. The test consists of multiple choice style questions on verbal ability (comprehension, vocabulary and verbal reasoning), numerical reasoning and non-verbal reasoning. There are two papers each with a duration of 45 to 50 minutes with additional time for instructions and some worked examples. There will be a break between the papers.
